Devil's Tower - Wyoming

Ah - A rest day. What better place than at one of America's National Monuments.

The Devils Tower in Wyoming.

Weather great, quiet and time to catch up, get the washing done, and all the rest.

So far, the bikes have covered 1,380 miles, we started the American Leg from Ocean Shores in Washington State on Monday 23nd April so we have been on the road for three weeks.

The British obsession with the weather is now one that we can all join in as the seasons move from Spring to Summer and we see more sun.

But what is Devils Tower, in fact it's a cone from a volcano that was active 50 million years ago. It stands proudly in the NE of Wyoming.  Over the years it has and still is an area with strong spiritual connections.

Climbers love it....

We stayed over night at the home of Frank Sanders and his Partner Julina Byrd, a very generous and interesting couple.   He has been a climbing guide on 'The Tower' for many years, a great pianist and very entertaining.  Juliana is a great conversationalist, a teacher and a brilliant host.

Here they are

So, Frank, Juliana, if you get to read this, many thanks for a great evening. (And sorry about the cooker!)

News about Bob, he is now home and recovering in California.  As  you can see Bob is able to get around with the aid of a walker.   You're looking good Bob.
