Cadillac Ranch

What sort of people do you think you would meet if you were to take a long bike ride across any country, well of course you would have no idea what or who you ware to meet.

This man is, well I am not sure how to describe him, in modern parlance I guess you would describe him as a 'installation sculpter' but that is on not an adequate title, he also has collection of several thousand toys, a small proposition displayed.  Then he as his grand parents and  grandparents roadside cafe that he has preserved and is now acts as an homage to his parents and grandparents.

He tells me that he tried to make it as an actor in Hollywood but just found it impossible, he now devotes himself to the role of preserving and making take a look:

His name is Keith Holt, and his home is just outside Clarksville Kentucky and this is the old roadside coffee shop.  It really is like taking a step back in time to enter.

His sculpting have a great sense of humour and sometime irony within them.

This is Goodbye to K(c)ansas. The red shoes and the cans and Dorothy for the Wizard of Oz.

The start of the show was the fabulous collection of figures and toys, all small and so many that it was almost impossible to count but Keith tells me at least 3,000.

The title?  The King is Born..

And this, Keith's take on Cadillac Ranch in Texas.

Keith, thank you...B
