Kansas continues

Oh dear oh dear, its been while since the last post, deeply frustrating from our point of view as such a lot has happened and is happening, but its that old problem, no wifi!

So a quick up due, we are now in Missouri, a fine state with fine people.

The bikers have travelled over two and a half thousand miles so far. The longest day on the trip was two days ago when they covered 135 miles in one day.  High temperatures and a gritty ride.

The people we meet continue to inspire, friendly, warm, interested, enthusiastic and encouraging.  But if you know this blog you will know it to be a blog with pictures.

So, Kansas, I think in the past I have mentioned the one this about Kansas that stands out, this is the trains, enormous goods trains that pull thousands of tons of coal or grain.

At the weekend we stayed on a RV site where the owner was a driver of such a train. but dear reader I think I hear sighs of boredom coming toward me, some photographs needed.  First the driver....

and of course a train, or just a part of a train, with coal.  It seems the bigger ones are over two miles long and you cannot get that onto  photo!

Our routine is one of early starts and oats (porridge) for breakfast, almost every day, on our day of we may sneak out to a diner for some made for us breakfast, and so we did in the town of Maryville Kansas.

An served by a very helpful server....

Yes a fine town Maryville, very quite first thing on Sunday morning and a good time to ride out...
